Mijn kostuum voor de Elf Fantasy Fair van 2010 (Haarzuilens): Medusa
Bestaat uit:
- Jasje
- Riem
- Jurk
- Petticoat
- Pruik
De riem bestaat uit 3 lagen. Tussen de onderste 2 lagen zitten tunneltjes gestikt waarin stukjes plastic balein zitten. Deze zorgen ervoor dat de riem plat blijft en dat hij niet verrimpeld. Hij kan redelijk strak aangetrokken worden, een beetje zoals een corset.
De bovenste laag is van dezelfde fluweel als het jasje. Deze laag is verstevigd met vlieseline. Deze laag is ook voorzien van het slangenborduursel. Dit is een soort Keltische knoop met slangenkop/staart motief. Ik wilde deze medusa wat andere (rare) trekjes meegeven. Het geheel is vastgezet, verkeerde kanten tegen elkaar en afgewerkt met zwart satijnen biasband.
Het jasje is ontstaan uit een HEEL erg aangepaste princessenlijn patroon. De mouwen (en het puntje achterop het jasje) heb ik zo gemaakt om een tintje "Morticia Addams" mee te geven, wat ook versterkt wordt door de snit van de jurk.
De jurk is een verlengd patroon van een rok met een bovenstukje uit een Burda-tijdschrift. Het lijfje van de jurk is gevoerd, de rok is dat niet. De zoom van de rok is een hele dichte overlock rolzoom.
De pruik is een goedkope, langharige zwarte (natuurlijk :P) pruik met pony, met daarin een aantal geprepareerde slangen ingewerkt. Tijdens het prepareren (door de eliminatie van alle vocht) verdwijnen de ogen, deze zijn vervangen door glittersteentjes voor het "Diva-effect".
Het was een verschrikkelijk zwaar en oncomfortabel ding en hij is inmiddels gerecycled.
Onder het geheel heb ik een corset aangetrokken om mijn niet bestaande taille terug te vinden :D Dit is een oude corset die ik een tijd geleden al gemaakt had. Ik heb voor deze gelegenheid echter de plastic baleinen vervangen voor stalen baleinen wat hem een stuk comfortabeler heeft gemaakt.
De jurk is tot nu toe slechts 1 keer (buiten het passen gerekend natuurlijk) gedragen, op de Elf fantasy fair in Haarzuilens (2010), zie, de foto's hieronder.
Ik ben echter niet het type gebleken om slechterikken te spelen :)
